Strata’s tardy upgrade of the code base for the Mac shows they don’t really care and have had a Windows-centric view on the world. Our principal modeller in the last year has been using Blender, and the team previously trialed the Microsoft 3D Builder application bundled with more recent Windows 10s. We purchased CX 8 a few months back in the hopes we'd receive an update to it that was all primed for Catalina. Ken Bringhurst, the President of Strata Mixed Reality Inc sent an email out in August saying that Strata Design 3D CX 8 was not ready for the imminent arrival of macOS Catalina and instead offered Mac users a cross grade to Windows. We’ve kept unto date now and then and earlier this year upgraded to Strata Design 3D CX 8, and doubled with Foto 3D SE from the Mac AppStore. We’ve been using Strata 3D products since the mid 1990s for our early basic 3D visuals.
